Andrea De Maria, a Senior Accountant and Founding Partner of Sigma Ventures, began his career as Chief Accountant at Grant Thornton before joining Deloitte as Senior Manager in 2000. Currently, he serves as Chief Financial Officer of Global Trust Advisors S.A., where he oversees financial management, ensuring regulatory compliance and the proper management of funds. Notably, he has played an instrumental role in establishing special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for large-scale real estate investments, showcasing his expertise and value to the industry.

Andrea’s exceptional track record in the financial industry has earned him a reputation as a trusted professional and an industry expert. His experience and expertise continue to be a valuable asset to Sigma Ventures and its clients.

JOSÉ SOARES

Founding Partner

José Soares is an accomplished technology entrepreneur with an impressive career spanning over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has held numerous senior leadership positions in the US and Europe, which attests to his broad knowledge and exceptional expertise.

JORGE CUNHA

Founding Partner

Jorge Cunha is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in the banking industry. He began his career at Dresdner Bank, working in the private banking department. In 2006, he rose to the position of Vice President at Banco Italiano Popolare, where he demonstrated his leadership and financial acumen. In 2012, he joined Banque Internationale à Luxembourg and was responsible for managing the Iberian and South American market.

With a strong foundation in finance and banking, Jorge’s expertise is highly valued in the industry. In 2015, he made the transition to entrepreneurship and co-founded Sigma, where he continues to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to the team.

ANDRÉ MARQUES

Partner

André Marques is a seasoned civil engineer with a wealth of experience in the construction industry. He started his professional journey at Martifer, where he played a key role in the successful implementation of the Energetic Certificate Buildings in Portugal. Throughout his career, he has held diverse positions in several multinationals and worked on various projects across Africa and Luxembourg.

André is an accomplished professional specializing in the management of both industrial and residential projects. With his proven ability to effectively oversee projects from inception to completion, he has earned a reputation as a highly respected and skilled expert. He joined Sigma Luxembourg in 2017, where he continues to share his valuable knowledge and expertise with the team.

ALFREDO DURÁN

Partner

Alfredo Durán is a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in various industries. He spent the first ten years of his career in the hotel and furniture sectors before moving on to Private Banking and Asset Management. Alfredo has worked with top tier institutions such as BBVA and two of the largest Family Offices globally, where he was responsible for managing investments across a wide range of asset classes, including Real Estate, Debt, Stocks, Derivatives, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, and Private Direct Investments in different sectors.

Throughout his career, Alfredo has held several notable positions, including serving on the board of nH Hotels, Hospes Hotels, and Digna Biotech. Currently, he is a member of the investment committee of the Emerald Marshall Bridge Mezzanine fund. Alfredo’s extensive knowledge and expertise have made him a highly respected professional in the industry and a valuable asset to Sigma Ventures.
